NovoDoba is an integrated banking applications system which covers the entire range of banking activities, from retail savings and loans and all corporate operations to data exchanges with payment systems and card institutions (NKS, SWIFT, MBU, etc.), and delivery of reports to the Croatian National Bank and other institutions (Tax Administration, DAB, etc.)

    The entire system was developed on the Microsoft SQL platform due to its extremely low cost and use and more than satisfactory speed and security.
 
    All client applications mainly use procedures stored on the server, so that the required server connection speed is minimal, and there is no need for speeds higher than 64 kbps even with maximum use of applications. Communication between the client and the server uses the TCP/IP protocol, thus leaving much space and many possibilities for connection methods, such as direct modem connections, frame-relay, or the VPN through Internet. Also client applications are typical Windows 32 applications supporting all types of computer peripherals (magnetic card reader, printer, scanner, etc.), which are supported by the Windows operating system, thus reducing the price of software use and facilitating further upgrades and development, without the need for experts certified for “exotic” IT areas.

In developing the application system, particular attention was accorded to ergonomics, functionality, speed and intuitiveness of the user interface. This is one more reason why the application is far ahead of competitors in banking activities, which still demand a high level of knowledge by operators, both professional banking knowledge and IT skills. The highlight of its simplicity are the system parameterization applications, which enable a bank employee without any specialized IT knowledge to introduce new savings and credit products to the Bank’s product line easily and quickly.
